The Shambhala seeks to restore the Himalayan art of weaving tiger rugs by re-empowering Tibetans with their craft through the Saving the Tibetan Tiger initiative. The initiative aims to preserve the unique weaving tradition and to uphold the spirit of ecology behind it. By enabling disenfranchised women to utilize rug weaving replacement not only serves as an example of culturally sustainable development through evolving traditional crafts but also relays a powerful environmental message to save the Himalayan tigers.
